Shocking moment man pushes 92-year-old woman to ground in daylight attack in New York

This is the shocking moment a man pushes a 92-year-old woman to the ground in an apparent random attack in New York City.

The man is caught on camera walking down a street in Manhattan on Friday afternoon.

He suddenly clips the pensioner on the head, who was walking in the opposite direction.

The woman, named locally as Geraldine, topples to the ground, seemingly hitting her head on a fire hydrant. The man looks back, but continues to walk away.

She was taken to a hospital in a stable condition.

Police said a 31-year-old man, identified as Rashid Brimmage of the Bronx, has been arrested in connection with the incident.

He was charged with assault shortly after he was taken into custody.

Geraldine told NBC New York that she was "so glad" there had been an arrest.

The former teacher said her wounds were relatively minor and have since healed, but the psychological impact has been worse.

“This damned guy put me in a state where I’m fearful to walk the streets alone," she told the New York Post.
