Huge plumes of smoke were sent into the London skyline after a fire broke out on a roof of a derelict block of flats in south London.
The London Fire Brigade tackled the blaze in the abandoned housing plot at around 7pm on Tuesday.
Video footage shows the moment the roof starts to smoulder in the flat fire at Conifer House, Southend Road in Beckenham.
Smoke was seen for miles around with locals reporting the vacant building had been occupied by squatters in the past.

An LFB spokesman said: “It turns out it was a derelict building which was fortunately not in use. The roof was alight which meant it looked quite impressive.
“We are using an aerial appliance to knock back the hotspots and will probably be here for a while.”
