Shocking Cardiff City vs Leeds United player ratings as defenders ripped to shreds on dark night

Jak Alnwick 3

Was nowhere near Wilfried Gnonto's first strike at his near post. Got beaten by him again at the near post for his second. Made a decent save to stop one of his efforts, though. Distribution all over the shop, too.

Tom Sang 2

Felt a bit sorry for him, up against such a prodigiously talented youngster in Gnonto, but he was ripped to shreds all night. Was fed in the box in the second half and it was a decent chance, but the ball just rolled right past him. .

Curtis Nelson 4

Pick of the defenders. Decent in the air and unlucky not to have a goal to his name, but it was ruled out for offside.

Jack Simpson 3

Just never looked confident, with the ball at his feet or positionally. Jack Harrison exposed him with a stunning pass around the back for Rodrigo's goal. Punted some long balls that did not hit their intended target. His unfortunate tackle set up Bamford's second.

Joel Bagan 2

Another one who had a nightmare. Every pass he hit seemed to go awry, he slipped at crucial moments and attackers glided past him.

Romaine Sawyers 4

At least tried to gain some semblance of control with the ball at his feet, even if he did pass backwards most of the time.

Andy Rinomhota 3

Didn't do anything of note particularly and the Leeds midfield ran the show around him before he was taken off.

Mark Harris 3

Had one diving header fly past the near post, but apart from that it was hard to remember too much of what he did. Off at the break.

Rubin Colwill 4

Tried to spark things into action and linked up well with Ojo down the left. Was frustrated by lack of service. Didn't help he played on the wing. Weirdly pulled at half-time.

Sheyi Ojo 4 (star man)

Stuck his neck above the parapet and at least tried to make things happen, running down the wing, taking on players and hitting crosses. His cross found Robinson for his first.

Kion Etete 3

Cardiff tried to use him as a target man to get them up the field but it didn't work. His flick-ons were largely aimless.

SUBS

Ryan Wintle (Colwill 45) 3 - Same as Rinomhota.

Cedric Kipre (Harris 45) 4 - Tried to bring some stability but looked lackadaisical at times.

Callum Robinson (Etete 64) 4 - Hit one shot over the bar and was dispossessed for Leeds' fifth. Atoned slightly by heading home late on before notching a penalty.

Isaak Davies (Rinomhota 64) 3 - Had one break and chose the wrong option.

Gavin Whyte (Ojo 88) NA
