Sheryl Lee Ralph, who became a first-time Emmy winner this year, may soon also be able to add lingerie model to her resume.
The 65-year-old stage and screen veteran will strut her stuff on Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty catwalk during a star-studded fashion event premiering on Prime Video on Nov. 9.
Ralph revealed that pop star and fashion/beauty mogul Rihanna personally requested her services for the fourth installment of her annual runway show.
“I got a call from Rihanna. Yes, Riri,” Ralph said during a “Live with Kelly and Ryan” interview that aired Tuesday.
“Of course I can’t do a Barbadian accent,” Ralph quipped after attempting an impersonation. “I can do a much better Jamaican. But, to hear that you’ve been requested by her — and, trust me , this is no Victoria’s Secret fashion show, baby. This is something on a different level. When I saw the choreography and I saw her vision that she had, walking through the mountains and all, I was like, alrighty, then. This is special.”
The “Abbott Elementary” star, who simulated a fashion show scene during the “Vogue Sequence” of Broadway’s “Dreamgirls” back in 1981, said she “will be strutting, baby” for Savage X Fenty.
The streaming special will also feature Taraji P. Henson, Simu Liu, Anitta and “RuPaul’s Drag Race” star Kornbread “The Snack” Jeté. And of course, professional supermodels like Joan Smalls and Cara Delevingne will run the garments, too.
