Sheridan Smith has not one, but two brand new dramas coming out in early 2022 and they both look to be as tense as each other.
No Return, is about a family whose lives are plunged into the unknown after the son is arrested on a family holiday to Turkey.
The second, The Teacher, sees the actress and singer as Jenna Garvey who is accused of sleeping with her pupil after a night out.
Both are four-parters and both see Sheridan act in tense and gripping scenes as she fights for her characters' futures.
The Teacher is on Channel 5 and No Return is on ITV.

The Teacher
Sheridan plays popular teacher Jenna Garvey, who is accused of sleeping with her pupil, Kyle (Samuel Bottomley), after a night out. Jenna, whose chaotic private life involves regularly blacking out after drinking, has no memory of the night in question.
As her life crumbles around her, Jenna is forced to face a dark event of her past in order to find out what really happened.
Joining Smith and Bottomley in the cast are Strictly winner Kelvin Fletcher (Death in Paradise, Emmerdale), Cecilia Noble (Small Axe, The Lady in the Van, Black Mirror) and Sharon Rooney (My Mad Fat Diary, Finding Alice, Sherlock), who all play Jenna's teaching colleagues.
It's A Sin and All Creatures Great and Small actor David Fleeshman will appear as Jenna’s father, while Ian Puleston-Davies (Tin Star, Marcella) also features.
When is The Teacher on Channel 5? It starts on Monday, January 31.
No Return
In this ITV, four-part drama, Sheridan heads up an unassuming family who are caught up in a living nightmare whilst on holiday in Turkey.
Sheridan will be joined by Louis Ashbourne Serkis best known for his role in the 2019 fantasy adventure film The Kid Who Would Be King and recent winner of the Outstanding Performance category at the 6th National Film Awards UK.
Together they will play mother and son, Kathy and 16-year-old Noah.
Kathy and husband Martin (Michael Jibson), Noah and younger daughter Jessica (Lily Sutcliffe) are blissfully unaware of the horrific ordeal about to unfold.
Their holiday is a chance to unwind and for Kathy and Martin to spend some much-needed time together. Until unsuspecting Noah accepts a seemingly innocent invitation to a beach party from a fellow holidaymaker, Rosie (Jodie Campbell), who is staying at the same hotel.
Suddenly Kathy and Martin’s world spectacularly falls apart when they are left desperately fighting for their son’s freedom against extremely challenging circumstances.
An arrest, an expensive and alien legal system, looming media coverage and resistance from fellow holidaymakers to come to their aid leaves the distraught parents fighting for Noah’s freedom when ironically he should be at school sitting his latest exams.
No Return also stars Sian Brooke (Stephen, Good Omens, Sherlock), David Mumeni (Sliced, Dead Pixels), Philip Arditti (House of Saddam, Black Earth Rising), Murat Seven (Undercover) and Rufus Hound (Trollied).
When is No Return on ITV? No Return will air on Monday, February 7 at 9pm on ITV. All of the episodes will be available on ITV Hub after episode one airs. The episodes will also continue weekly.
