A pair of skimpy denim shorts have caused quite a stir among Shein shoppers, many of whom feel the item looks more like a thong than something you'd wear out and about. The 'Low Rise Booty Denim Shorts' leave little to the imagination, and some fear plucky wearers may "never walk again" after trying them on.
The barely-there shorts - dubbed a "jong" by some - have a top metal button, zip, and belt strap, much like most denim pants. After the first set of stitching, however, the shorts cut off sharply, leaving some shoppers wincing at the very thought of pulling them on.
One baffled person commented: "Just don't go for a bike ride in them. You may never walk again."
Another shuddered: "Not even I want to see me in that. No one wants their eyes to burn."
A third person wondered where on Earth the pockets could be, while a fourth pondered, "Where do you put your loose change?"
A fifth individual deadpanned: "You don't get much material for £11.99."
Others however took a far more positive view of the daring "jean thong" or "jong", with one happy customer reporting: "Love them, very sexy. A bit uncomfortable."
Another said: "Very small and tight. They hurt my crotch and hurt to wear."
These teeny-tiny shorts are part of Shein's spring collection, advertised ahead of the clocks going forward on Sunday, March 26. If you're feeling brave enough, you can grab yourself a light wash pair for £11.99, or a darker blue or black pair for £12.49.
Those who'd prefer a teeny bit more coverage could instead opt for £15.49 pair of Eilly Bazar Solid Raw Hem Denim Booty Shorts, which come with frayed thread, or the Eilly Bazar Solid Raw Hem Denim Booty Shorts, which are also priced at £15.49.
