Sheik Jassim’s dad casts doubt over Manchester United bid as Erik ten Hag shares trophy verdict

Here are your Manchester United morning headlines for Friday, March 3.

'I don't like this investment' - Sheikh Jassim's father raises doubts over Manchester United bid

Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani's father, Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, has claimed that any takeover of Manchester United would be seen as an investment rather than a means to advertise Qatar.

As part of his bid to buy United, Sheikh Jassim has promised to fund improvements to the club, including financing improvements to Old Trafford and Carrington.

Erik ten Hag gives his verdict on Manchester United's chances of winning quadruple

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag insists that his players will not be distracted by talk of potentially securing what would be a famous quadruple this season.

United, who will resume their Premier League campaign with a trip to Anfield to face rivals Liverpool on Sunday, clinched their first trophy of the Ten Hag era last weekend, beating Newcastle United 2-0 in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley. They followed up their victory over the Magpies with a 3-1 win over West Ham United in the fifth round of the FA Cup at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening.

The Reds are still competing in the Europa League and face Real Betis in the first leg of their last-16 showdown next week. United are also still in with a chance of winning the Premier League title this season, but must overcome an 11-point deficit to clinch their first league crown since 2013.
