Sheffield Wednesday's shock decision may have given huge clue to next Leeds United manager

Darren Moore's exit from Sheffield Wednesday didn't feel like one which had been brewing. It's fair to say the news and the timing of it too, caught everyone by surprise. Moore had looked all set to lead the Owls in the Championship having fought so hard to help them back into the second tier.

And so it was with a sense of bewilderment that the news was greeted by most on Monday evening. There were some who looked beyond the immediate announcement and thought, could this mean something greater? Could it in particular have a significant impact on Leeds United's manager hunt?

Darren Moore to be next Leeds boss? No, that's not what the early suggestions are. Moore back to coach West Bromwich Albion, that's where some people are putting their money right now. What's that you cry? The Baggies have a manager already in Carlos Corberan! Yes, but what about if he has had an interview with Leeds and is closing in on his own return to a former club.

Could we be in for a bit of manager swapping with Moore and Corberan on the move? It's certainly not beyond the realms of possibility and why it feels a little bit of a leap so soon after the news of Moore's exit from Sheffield Wednesday, it's easy to see why some are already banging that drum.

Moore's availability certainly puts him in the mix for some jobs that are available and some that may not yet be free. The next few days are certain to tell us much more on the managerial merry-go-round.
