Sheffield United have reportedly 'joined the race' to sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis O'Brien.
Forest are 'willing' to listen to offers for the midfielder, despite signing him last summer. The 24-year-old has been restricted game time at the City Ground and hasn't started since the 4-0 defeat at Leicester in October.
Reports claimed that West Bromwich Albion were monitoring the midfielder's situation but it is now claimed to be United who are keen on signing O'Brien as their player, with Sander Berge on the verge of an exit. According to Alan Nixon, the Blades may accept a bid for Berge who has been a target for Fulham and Brighton.

The Championship side have reportedly joined the race for O'Brien to boost their ranks in their push for promotion. Although it is claimed that Albion were favourites to secure his services, Carlos Corberan 'could be outmanoeuvred' by the Blades.
However, the club would need permission from the EFL to sign O'Brien as they are currently under embargo, but Berge's sale could solve that.
