Sheffield United boss Paul Heckingbottom receives huge backlash over 'tripe' Nottingham Forest comments

Sheffield United manager Paul Heckingbottom has received a backlash from Nottingham Forest fans after his post-match comments.

Reds supporters are angry that Heckingbottom did not publicly apologise to Djed Spence, after forcefully pushing the ball into the wing-back's midriff, sparking a fracas on the touchline.

Heckingbottom's side lost the tense play-off semi-final after Brice Samba saved three penalties in a shootout. Forest now advance to the play-off final at Wembley Stadium on May 29. Below is a look at how Forest fans have been reacting to Heckingbottom...

HonestRed69 : The best team won simple as that, be a man and congratulate them and move on, well to your earlier than hoped summer holiday!

SlapheadRed54 : So 'running the game", bring "professional' , 'game management' (all really meaning the same thing and we all know what it is!) is OK for them to do but when someone else does to them he doesn't like it. He thought the officials did well after he'd set them straight did he? 26,000 don't agree with that . However misunderstood they are, they didn't score enough to beat us and he can't change that whatever he says.

Dasrian : Nice of him to apologise to Djed, or it would have been if he had the decency. I can’t believe he’s accusing Forest of gamesmanship after the SUFC antics.

PortugalFan : Crazy how this guy has a big mouth, talk before, throughout, and after the game. Keep talking and enjoy your summer vacation

football1st : Mr Heckingbottom what a load of sour grape flavoured tripe. It is a professional sport and don't be so hypocritical to say that you would not use it yourself. Psychological edge is a big thing in the game, if you can get it you use it, even Mr Clough had his methods (not arguing with officials was one as it normally got the same officials subconsciously on our side). And don't forget Mr Peter Taylor 78 League Cup replay "of course it was a penalty the ref gave it didn't he". Grow up stop whinging and give your team a better chance next year by doing so.

Dan75 : Wow noticed he didn't moan about all the decisions going his way or he should have at least one player sent off just sounds like sour grapes

StewyDeano : What was he upset about. Taking too long over a throw or what??

steviek56 : Typical sour grapes from a manager who lost it & should know better (like his teams never use gamesmanship)!!
