Two portable buildings were destroyed in a fire at a playing field in Wavertree.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service rushed to Olive Mount Playing Fields at around 8.07pm on Friday, May 13, following reports of a fire. Two fire engines arrived at the scene, the former Manweb Sports and Social Club, just five minutes later and found two wooden buildings well alight.
Crews worked for almost an hour to put out the fire using main and hose reel jets. The fire was extinguished by 8.42pm and crews left the scene at 9.05pm.

Pictures taken by an ECHO photographer show extensive damage to the sheds, which appear to be empty.
A spokesperson from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said: "MFRS was called to Thingwall Road in Liverpool on Friday, May 13. Crews were alerted at 8.02pm and on scene at 8.07pm. Two fire engines attended.
"On arrival crews found two wooden buildings well alight on the playing fields."
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service are investigating the incident.
