Although Colorado didn’t end the 2023 season on a strong note, Shedeur Sanders proved throughout the year that he’s one of the most electric quarterbacks in college football.
The Buffaloes star weighed in on an age-old discussion on Thursday, discussing with Sports Illustrated what his “perfect” quarterback would look like, and he didn’t hesitate to float himself as the answer in a few areas.
Sanders named himself in regard to the quarterback with the best football IQ, and also said he’d pick himself over anyone else when it comes to toughness and competitiveness.
The 21-year-old said he’d want seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady’s accuracy for his perfect quarterback, and for speed he settled on Mike Vick.

When asked about arm strength, Sanders said, “That honestly doesn’t matter, just depends on the precision and the accuracy.”
“I mean, I’m not out here throwing the ball 90 yards, but I can get it to where I need to,” he said regarding his own arm strength.
Clearly, Sanders wasn’t lacking confidence in his own abilities as a quarterback. And rightfully so.
He threw 27 touchdown passes and just three interceptions this season, while playing with an inconsistent offensive line in front of him, all the while playing under the national spotlight.
Blending Brady’s accuracy and Vick’s speed to Sanders’ current skill set would be quite the combination, enough so that the Colorado star thinks they’d make up the perfect quarterback.
