Happy Mondays ' Shaun Ryder revealed that he has been taking 'more pills now' than in his heyday as he provided a health update.
The star, who has been appearing on Celebrity Gogglebox, said he 'doesn't have a thyroid' and has to take pills for it.
He made sure to keep positive and joked that he has been taking more pills now than he ever recreationally did in the past.
The singer told Daily Star : "It's because I don't have a thyroid, mine was underactive which makes you fat and bald but once that goes then everything starts to grate down and you have to take lots of tablets.
"And I don't produce testosterone now so I'm on more pills now than I was in 1988."
The singer has had many health issues over the years, with Shaun previously revealing he discovered non-cancerous cysts in his testicles.
At the time it was the Covid-19 lockdown and he wasn't able to undergo surgery to remove the benign cysts.
Speaking to The Sun, Shaun said: “I had one, now I’ve got f***ing two, and they are an absolute pain. I just keep taking the tablets and painkillers as they are hitting the nerves in my b**ks.”
Explaining more about his condition, he went on: “They did cancer tests – I got the all-clear.”
Shaun has also dealt with fighting severe pain due to arthritis, as well as battling a thyroid problem and enduring panic attacks.
