Shaun Maloney reckons Nick Walsh missed a clear penalty that could have denied Hibs a vital point at Ibrox.
The Easter Road boss reckons Ryan Porteous was fouled by Calvin Bassey in the box – but the decision went the other way – with Rangers leading 1-0 from their own spot-kick converted by James Tavernier.
Maloney said: “I’ve looked at it back and it looks clear when Porteous was fouled but we didn’t get it.
“We don’t have VAR and our refs are part-time but it was a clear penalty.
“I feel sorry for them, but it’s a decision we didn’t get. We move on.”
Maloney was pleased the way his players regrouped after going behind after four minutes and losing Paul McGinn to injury shortly afterwards.
He said: “It was a very difficult start but that can happen when you play Celtic or Rangers.
“It tested the mentality of the team but we regrouped and defensively we were pretty good and I have to give credit to my team after losing a goal so early for staying in the fight for as long as they did.
“It upset us a little bit when Paul McGinn went off but we changed the structure when Sylvester Jasper came on and his performance was really pleasing.
“I think Rangers were better than us in the first half but we had a big chance with Kevin Nisbet.
“That’s been the story for us recently and we have to be more clinical.
“In the last 20 minutes we created three or four chances which might have changed things.”
