SHAUN MALONEY is in pole position to land the vacant Dundee job, according to a report.
The Scotsman say that the Dens Park side are poised to turn to the recently sacked Hibs manager.
The report also states that Jack Ross, who was also in contention for the position, has dropped out of the running.
Should a deal for Maloney go through, then the former Belgium coach will be reunited with Gordon Strachan. Maloney played under Strachan at Celtic and in the Scotland national team set-up.
Strachan is technical director at the Dark Blues.
Maloney will take over the reins from Mark McGhee, who was in charge when the club were relegated from the Premiership this season.
It would be his second mangerial job after his short stint in charge of Hibs.
