Shaun Maloney insists he’ll work flat out to sign a replacement for Martin Boyle before transfer deadline after admitting Hibs lost control against Livingston.
His side blew a half-time lead and missed the chance to leapfrog Motherwell into fourth place.
Boss Maloney said: “We’ll definitely be working hard to try and bring a player in .
“When a team goes man for man against you like Livingston did, we really didn’t have anyone with that speed or one-v-one and that’s when you have to try and pass through.”
Hibs were booed off by frustrated fans but Maloney said: “I don’t feel like the fans aren’t with me.
"Livingston are never out of the game and I’m disappointed by the way we defended in the second half.
“We lost control. It feels like we had an opportunity to progress and the second half was really disappointing.
"I don't think the changes in defence have helped.
"I don't think that back five will have played together but I can't really use that as a big excuse.
"The way that we set up at set plays, it shouldn't matter which players are on the pitch. The set-plays shouldn't result in first contact for the opponent, like Livingston 's first goal."
