Sharon Osbourne has thanked rapper Jamal Rajad for helping save her daughter Aimee's life following a Hollywood studio fire that killed one person and injured two others.
The former X Factor judge took to Instagram to share her gratitude for the part Rajad played in rescuing her eldest child from the building during the blaze two days ago.
Aimee, 38, was working with a producer at the time and her relieved mother responded on the social media platform to a comment from Rajad's wife Pretty Face Ray'Ray, who is also a rapper.
The 69-year-old TV personality said: "Your husband alerting her literally saved her life. THANK YOU @pretty.face.rayray."
In the original comment, Ray’Ray had written: "ASKED MY HUSBAND TO CATCH HER (Aimee) SO SHE CAN JUMP OUT OF THE SECOND FLOOR AFTER HE WAS YELLING LETTING EVERYONE IN THE BUILDING KNOW. GLAD SHE DIDNT HAVE TO [JUMP] AND SHE WAS OKAY."
Ray’Ray added: “I’m still here right now, hoping I can salvage our studio equipment.”
In a post on his own Instagram profile, Rajad revealed his cats were killed in the fire, saying: "I tried to save them but I could not beat the smoke and flames."
Aimee, unlike her younger siblings Kelly and Jack, did not appear in a single episode of her family's MTV show The Osbournes that ran from 2002 to 2005.
She is also yet to make any public comment about the fire, but Sharon added in her Instagram post: "They (Aimee and her producer) are the lucky two that made it out alive. It is utterly heartbreaking that someone lost their life today in this fire & we are sending our prayers to this person & their family.
"What happened today was beyond horrific. I really hope moving forward that buildings like this are better regulated for fire safety."
Sharon also described the venue as “a creative hub for music in Hollywood", whilst adding: “Producers, musicians, mixers & artists also lost all of their equipment.”
Last year, 37-year-old Kelly revealed that she does not speak to her elder sister, telling Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast that the pair "don't talk" before explaining: "We’re just really different. She doesn’t understand me, and I don’t understand her."
In August 2020, Aimee told New York's Q104.3 Classic Rock that she had no regrets about her decision not to be featured in The Osbournes, explaining that she valued her privacy and did not want to be "typecast" by the media.
She said: "For me personally, and for who I am, you know, as far as morally and also just to give myself a chance to actually develop into a human being as opposed to just being remembered for being a teenager, it didn't really line up with what I saw my future as."
