Sharon Osbourne tearfully reveals Ozzy has Covid as she steps down from hosting TalkTV show

Sharon Osbourne has broken down in tears during an interview with TalkTV as she revealed her husband Ozzy Osbourne has been diagnosed with Covid-19. She also spoke of how she will be stepping down from hosting her new chat show on the channel while she helps him recover.

The TV personality and former X Factor judge was seen crying on camera as she spoke how how she would need to take a break from her show after just three days, in order to fly to the Osbourne home in LA to be with her husband of 40 years. Sharon explained how the 73-year-old Black Sabbath rocker has contracted the virus, after two years, and she is "worried".

Because Sharon is rushing back to America to be with Ozzy, who revealed he had Parkinson's disease in 2020, she will not be presenting her new debate show The Talk which airs weekdays on the channel from 9pm. But she promised viewers she would be "back on air in a week", The Mirror reports.

During an interview aired on the channel on Thursday, April 28, Sharon revealed Ozzy's shock diagnosis, saying: "Ozzy was only diagnosed in the middle of the night our time. I spoke to him and he's OK. I am very worried about Ozzy right now. We've gone two years without him catching Covid and it's just Ozzy's luck, it would be now."

Asked what she would do when she returns to see him, she said she will "hold him and kiss him but with about three face masks on". The couple share three children together, Aimee, Kelly and Jack. "My family is my life," explained the 69-year-old star whilst crying, adding: "Unfortunately, he was diagnosed in the middle of the night when the family was sleeping so I haven't spoken to them yet. But they'll rally round. They'll be with him".

"I can't believe my luck," she continued: "I'm missing the show and I've only been there three days. I can't believe it. Three days and I'm missing the show but I will be back. I know I will. It will take me a week to get my old man back on his feet again and I will be back," she said of when she will reappear on her show.

"You're going to see me back on air in a week. I know my husband. We're going to get him back on his feet and we're going to get a negative test by next week."

The Talk airs on TalkTV, 9pm Monday - Friday on Sky 526, Virgin Media 627, Freeview 237 and Freesat 217. You can also listen on DAB+ and app.
