Sharon Osbourne has pulled out of The Talk and jetted back to LA after husband Ozzy was diagnosed with Covid.
She has vowed to be back in a week but it comes after ratings plunged to 9,000 after just three episodes – with the 69-year-old TV host saying she is 'very worried' for her frail husband who is 73 and has suffered from various health issues in recent years.
Sharon has revealed that Ozzy has been diagnosed with Covid overnight and as she rushes to the USA to be at his side – and forcing her to cancel her TV commitments in the UK.
The veteran TV star this week launched her new evening talk show – titled The Talk – on newly launched TalkTV with episodes airing week nights at 9pm.
In a video shared by The Sun, Sharon tearfully announced: "Ozzy was only diagnosed in the middle of the night our time. I spoke to him and he's OK. I am very worried about Ozzy right now."
She continued: "We've gone two years without him catching Covid and it's just Ozzy's luck it would be now."
She went on to declare that she will "hold him and kiss him" with "about three face masks on" once she reunites with the rock legend.
Sharon added: "My family is my life. I can't believe my luck. I'm missing the show and I've only been there three days."
It is also suggested that Sharon might yet feature on The Talk – which she hosts alongside disgraced former ITV talk show host Jeremy Kyle – by attending via video link.
However, the show has struggled to attract an audience – with reports suggesting less than 10,000 people have tuned in to episodes during the launch week.
This pales in comparison to ratings for Piers Morgan's heavily publicised show, Uncensored, which attracted 400,000 viewers on its launch on Monday – although half that number tuned in the following day.
Sharon and Ozzy opened up about his ongoing health battles in a recent interview for the USA channel ABC.
Scenes showed Ozzy discussing how he was diagnosed with Parkinson's – and struggling to fight back emotions.
He said: "It has been terribly challenging for us.
"I had to have surgery on my neck which screwed all my nerves. I found out that I have a mild form of...."
As Ozzy struggled to finish his sentence, wife Sharon continued: "It's Parkin 2 which is a form of Parkinson's. There are so many different types of Parkinson's.
"It's not a death sentence by any stretch of the imagination but it does effect the nerves in your body. It's like you'll have a good day, then a good day and then a really bad day," she explained.
Ozzy continued: "A year ago I was in a terrible state. I'm on a host of medication, mainly for the surgery.
"I've got numbness down this arm and my legs are going cold. I don't know if it's the Parkinson's or what. That's the problem."
