Shark Tank's Daymond John Stirs Debate With Thought-Provoking Question About Elon Musk, Money

Shark Tank investor and FUBU founder Daymond John has struck a nerve on Twitter with an intriguing question.

FUBU, the hip hop apparel company, was founded by John in 1992 and stands for "For Us, By Us."

John appears on Disney's (DIS) ABC reality show Shark Tank, where entrepreneurs present business ideas to a group of investors, including John, in hopes of convincing them to invest in their projects.

On Feb. 16, John unveiled an idea of his own when he proposed a question in a tweet about Tesla (TSLA) CEO Elon Musk.

"A meeting with Elon Musk or $500k, what would you pick?" asked @TheSharkDaymond.

Twitter users responded with a wide range of answers and opinions.

"$500k easily," wrote @HustleNman513. "You're gonna learn a lot from @elonmusk, but one meeting! I'd rather $500k and that would change my life drastically."

"If Elon invested as a VC, or an angel in my industry then I would clearly say him," tweeted @TheSharkDaymond. "Since that's not the case I'd likely take the money so I can finish my product using under 20% of the cash and the rest would feed into user acquisition so we can scale and be profitable day one."

"Elon," wrote @SantaDecides. "I'm confident I could make content worth $500k with that meeting."

"500," chose @dcmarshall. "I'm always taking the money. I can YouTube y'all advice and use the money to actually do it. Not just hear some good advice and still not have money."

"Elon!" wrote @ResilienceElite. "In my opinion the money is always going to be there. It’s going to come and it’s going to go. But that conversation, what a missed opportunity it would be not to have it. He’s brilliant!"

"$500k, then build a successful business with it and make myself so much successful that @elonmusk come to me...." tweeted @YasirBhutto007.

"Money please," wrote @rastern6. "I can talk to a conspiracy theorist on the street."
