Bayless and Sherman butted heads previously when the enigmatic host was still on ESPN’s “First Take” a decade ago. Bayless was critical of Sherman, as he is with many athletes play, and Sherman was given the platform to clap back at the host.
“I think I’ve accomplished more in your field than you have in yours, though you’re just getting started,” Bayless told Sherman.
“I’m All-Pro, I’m one of the best 22 players in the NFL,” Sherman replied. “I don’t think you’re the best 22 anything … in my 24 years of life, I’m better at life than you.”
The exchange created a media stir despite the still nascent social media landscape at the time. But the two seem to still be willing to work together nowadays with the New York Post reporting that they were spotted meeting together at a hotel in Beverly Hills on Wednesday, July 12.
Should Sherman get the role, he will have to do so while managing his obligations as a member of Amazon Prime’s “Thursday Night Football” team.

However, Bayless reportedly has the final say as to who his next partner will be.
