NFL legend Shannon Sharpe has dropped a huge hint about his next broadcasting role, after recently confirming his departure from Undisputed.
Sharpe's final appearance on the FS1 show came on June 13, bringing an end to his seven-year stay on the set. During his last broadcast, the former Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens issued an emotional farewell and paid tribute to Skip Bayless.
Being brought to tears, Sharpe said: "Skip Bayless, you fought for me. I am here because of you. You have allowed me to share the stage with you. You've allowed me to share the platform. I will cry in the car, I'm not gonna cry now.
"The opportunity that you gave me, to become what I became, I'm forever indebted to you. I'll never forget what you did for me. You helped me grow more than you ever know." Sharpe also paid tribute to his friends, family and the shows viewers.
"Ladies and gentlemen at home, you'll see me again somewhere I just don't know where," he added. "Thank you so much for your support. Love you guys." One week on it seems fans will not have to wait long to see the NFL stalwart return to TV.
The 54-year-old took to Twitter to share a cryptic message to his followers, hinting his next TV stint will come on a morning show. He wrote: "l'm enjoying my early morning workouts, late breakfast, and break from wearing a suit every morning…
""I'll be back on [TV] in the morning's soon." The announcement appeared to music to the ears of NFL fans, as a whole host responded to Sharpe with their excitement. One follower replied: "Great Looking forward to it," whilst another added: "Thank goodness!!!!!!!!!"
And the love for the former Broncos and Ravens tight end did not stop there, as another fan commented: "Can’t wait to see what you do next Unc." Keen to see Sharpe back on screen before the new season kicks off, a fourth added: "I need you back before football season starts Unc."
