Michelle Heaton was left floored on Saturday when Shania Twain sent her words of encouragement ahead of her debut on ITV ’s Dancing On Ice.
The 43-year-old former Liberty X singer is one of the celebrities taking part in the fifteenth season of the winter sport reality contest - which starts airing on ITV on Sunday night.
Ahead of the first live show of the season, videos were shared via social media showing what song each contestant and their dance partner would be performing to.
And it transpires that Michelle and her 43-year-old skate partner, Łukasz Różycki, will be dancing to Shania’s recent single Waking Up Dreaming.
Footage was shared via the official Dancing On Ice Instagram feed - as well as a longer video that showed Michelle training and sharing the news of her first dance song on her own feed.
Michelle wrote: “So let’s wake me up dreaming.
“Me & @icelukasz will be skating to one of my favourite artists of all time @shaniatwain #wakemeupdreaming This Sunday @dancingonice @itv & @itvxofficial 6.30pm.
“I am bursting with excitement.”
She went on to request her followers show their support by voting for her, and then added: "Let’s hope we wake you up with this fun and fast routine!"
Michelle’s excitement was intensified, however, when non other than 57-year-old Canadian pop icon Shania responded to the messages herself.
She wrote back to the Dancing On Ice account: “Can’t wait to see!”
Michelle then screen-shotted the interaction and shared it via her own Instagram Stories, exclaiming: “Omg wake me up I’m dreaming!”
Michelle is hoping for more happy moments on Dancing On Ice - where she is aiming to win the contest after recently overcoming addiction issues.
The former chart topping star saw her life spiral out of control when she developed a life threatening alcohol and drug addiction.
She told the Mirror earlier this month: “I’ve suffered from addictions so even though I’ve always wanted to do the show and my name has been in the hat, it was never the right time.
“I want to do it because it’s always been on my bucket list. The show is magical, the costumes and doing something that is different and outside my box.
“The end goal is to do the bolero. I know how proud and astonished my mum and dad would be if I got to perform that.”
She added that the two people she wants to impress the most during her time on the ice are her two children; 10-year-old daughter Faith and eight-year-old son, AJ.
Dancing on Ice starts Sunday at 6:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
