Shane Waldron is settling in quick with the Chicago Bears. Yesterday we learned that the Seattle Seahawks’ offensive coordinator for the last three seasons is leaving town and taking the same position with Chicago. Most Seattle fans don’t seem to mind Waldron leaving, but the coaching exits won’t stop there. In fact, it sounds like Waldron could be poaching several assistants from the Seahawks.
According to a report by Jonathan Jones at CBS, Waldron is setting up interviews with three assistants: run game coordinator/running backs coach Chad Morton, passing coordinator/wide receivers coach Sanjay Lal and assistant quarterbacks coach Kerry Joseph.
New Bears OC Shane Waldron wasting no time trying to fill out his staff. He’s setting up interviews with Seahawks coaches Chad Morton, Sanjay Lal and Kerry Joseph among others for various staff positions, per source.

After the news broke that Pete Carroll was being removed as head coach, Jones reported that Seahawks assistants would be free to seek other jobs around the league. So far there hasn’t been much reported interest outside of Waldron, though. The Browns have interviewed offensive line coach Andy Dickerson for their open OC position, but that’s it.
As for the Seahawks’ search, general manager John Schneider is being deliberate, as expected. He’s setting up a second round of interviews with five head coach candidates, most of them defensive assistants.
