The wife of The Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan has issued a health update about the ailing musician.
The 65-year-old was thought to have been admitted to an intensive care unit in June, although his partner Victoria Mary Clarke did not go into detail about his diagnosis.
She has now taken to social media to reveal that the Fairytale of New York hit-maker is starting to feel better and has been transferred to a hospital ward.
Alongside a picture of them lying in bed together with MacGowan in a hospital gown, Clarke wrote on Instagram: “I just wanted to thank everyone who is sending love and prayers for â¦@ShaneMacGowan.
“We really appreciate it and bless all of you and anyone anywhere who is having health challenges! @poguesofficial.”
Last month she used the social media platform to open up about his health worries.
“There has been a lot of turbulence in my life recently and it’s been very emotional and also scary,” she shared.
“But this past few days I have noticed that even though there’s a LOT of fear, there is also a huge amount of love and support and incredible blessings.
“I think that our minds can be VERY resistant to change and to having our lives shaken up and rearranged and we need to be very gentle and patient with ourselves…
“It’s a challenge to stay present with your feelings. Thank you to everyone who has been supporting me @shanemacgowanofficial.”
