Shane MacGowan has publicly announced his support for Johnny Depp amid the actor's US defamation trial against former wife Amber Heard.
Johnny told a Virginia courtroom yesterday that his former wife's allegation against him were "heinous and disturbing".
He is suing Amber for libel over a 2018 article she wrote in The Washington Post which Johnny's lawyers say falsely implies that he physically and sexually abused her.

The Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan offered his support to Johnny as the case continues, sharing a photo of him with the actor on Twitter. He wrote: "Stay strong brother we are with you."
The two have been close friends for more than three decades. Shane's wife has also given her support to Johnny, writing on Instagram last week: "Sending so much love to Gina @girldeuters today!!! #johnnydeppisinnocent."
In 2020, Johnny produced a documentary about Shane's life and career called Crock of Gold – A Few Rounds with Shane MacGowan.
Johnny testified yesterday, April 19 and told the courtroom: "[In] the relationship there were arguments and things of that nature, but never did I myself reach the point of striking Ms Heard in any way, nor have I ever struck any woman in my life."
He added: "It's been six years of trying times, very strange when one day you’re Cinderella, so to speak, and then in 0.6 seconds you’re Quasimodo.
"I didn't deserve that, nor did my children, nor did the people who have believed in me all these years.
"I pride myself on honesty… on truth. Truth is the only thing I'm interested in."
The trial started on April 11 and is expected to last six weeks in total.
