Shane Lynch issues an update on Boyzone's future

Singer Shane Lynch issued an update on whether or not Boyzone would be returning.

The singer appeared on the morning chat show Lorraine ahead of his appearance on The Real Housewives of Cheshire. Taking over as host, Christine Lampard quizzed the star on the new series but ended the interview with a quick discussion about his previous work.

Shane was part of the Irish boyband Boyzone for almost two decades before calling they called it quits in 2019. Since then, fans have been begging for a reunion, including Christine.

Quizzing the singer on the possibility of a comeback, she said: "I know you get asked all the time but I'm going to continue to ask until you say yes. Boyzone, when are we getting a comeback?"

After a moment of brief hesitation, Shane said: "Look, I love my boys to pieces. For me personally, the last gig we ever did I was in a very delicate position, it was kind of the last show for me.

"I've had enough really. I love everything I've created and built up to because sometimes when you go back on tour you lose a lot. You lose a lot of family life too so I think I'm steady where I am and I'm happy not to be a part of that life anymore."

Christine shared her disappointment but admitted she understands where the singer was coming from. Boyzone first appeared on the scene back in 1993 but split six years later to pursue solo projects. In 2007 they returned with the intention of "just touring" but remained a group until 2018 to celebrate their 25th anniversary.
