Shane Lowry has vowed to 'dust himself down and move on' after his final round collapse at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.
Lowry had started brightly with opening rounds of 67, 70 and 66. He went into the last round in a tie for the lead but endured a 'tough day' which eventually left him nine shots off winner Victor Perez after a final round 76.
His misfiring round featured bogeys on the sixth and ninth. He improved with impressive birdies on the 12th and 13th holes but fell away after another bogey on 14. He then rounded off a thoroughly miserable afternoon with a bogey on 15, triple bogey on the 16th and a three-putt on hole 17.
The Offaly native has endured a rollercoaster start to 2023. Only last week he failed to win any of his four Hero Cup matches. He will at least be buoyed by his excellent first three rounds here.

In a post on Instagram, he said: "Tough day today but unfortunately that’s golf. Will dust myself down and move on. Long year ahead."
Lowry will be hoping to put his early year disappointments behind when he tees off for the Dubai Desert Classic which starts later this week.
