Shane Lowry primed for charge as Padraig Harrington makes cut at Honda Classic

Shane Lowry moved into contention with a solid 68 as Padraig Harrington made the cut on a good day for the Irish at the Honda Classic.

The Clara man dropped a shot on 2 before responding with a fine Birdie on the very next hole. He made the turn in one-under-par before finishing his round with Birdie on 17 and Par on 18 to finish his round on two-under-par.

Last year, Lowry found himself one shot behind the leader on the 72nd tee at the 2022 Honda Classic. A torrential downpour scuppered Lowry's chances of making Birdie, and Sepp Straka held on to win his first PGA title.

Sitting inside the top-20 at four-under-par on moving day, the Offaly star is in decent shape moving into the weekend and is just six strokes behind leader Justin Suh.

After a poor start on Thursday, Harrington found himself on two-over-par before a ball was struck on Friday.

The three-time major champion picked up early Birdies on 11 and 12 after beginning his second round on the back nine.

A two-time winner of the Honda Classic in the past, the 51-year-old traded a couple of Birdies and Pars to finish two-under for the day and is level par for the tournament after two rounds, one shot inside the cutline.
