Shane Duffy was wondering where his career would go this time last year after a disastrous spell at Celtic - but he's set to earn another Premier League move 12 months on.
Current club Brighton and Hove Albion loaned the Republic of Ireland international to Parkhead during the 2020/21 season and his performances were slated during a campaign that ended in Rangers squashing their 10-in-a-row dream. He returned to Brighton last summer and maintained his place in Graham Potter's plans, but the Seagulls boss is set to send out on loan again.
It's reported by The Athletic that Duffy is 'close' to completing a season-long loan move to London-based Fulham, his first spell away from the Amex since that ill-fated Celtic move two years ago. The Premier League season starts this weekend and Craven Cottage manager Marco Silva has 'been desperate to bolster their backline' before action gets underway again.

Duffy will help him do that and he is 'expected to provide immediate competition for central defenders Tim Ream and Tosin Adarabioyo.'
The 30-year-old has 55 caps for his country and has made more than 300 career appearances, including 114 in England's top flight.
His spell in Glasgow is not one he will look back on fondly, making 27 outings in the 2020/21 campaign. 2023 is when Duffy's Seagulls deal expires.
