The summer transfer window took a surprising turn for the Gunners when reports that Chelsea were pursuing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s signature came to light. The surprise became a reality when Arsenal's London rivals announced the signing of Mikel Arteta's former captain on transfer deadline day.
Speaking about joining Chelsea and working under Thomas Tuchel, Aubameyang said: "It will be an honour and a joy again [to play for Tuchel], we had some good times in Dortmund together so I am really happy to play for him again."
However, Chelsea shocked the footballing world by announcing the departure of Tuchel from the club on Wednesday morning. Due to Aubameyang's recent move, Arsenal fans have taken the chance to get their own back at the former Gunners captain, as he only played in one match with the German coach at Chelsea, despite Tuchel being a major factor in his decision to join the club.
