Shakira and Carin León Shine at Premio Lo Nuestro 2025 with a Night of Nostalgia and Unforgettable Moments

Shakira and Carin León were the big winners of the night at the 2025 edition of Premio Lo Nuestro, consolidating themselves as the most awarded artists of the event. The gala, held at the Kaseya Center in Miami, not only recognized the best of Latin music but was also marked by emotional tributes and unforgettable performances.

With six awards, Shakira reaffirmed her status as one of the most influential artists on the Latin music scene. Although she was unable to attend the ceremony, the Colombian star went live from her concert in Barranquilla to thank her fans. Meanwhile, Carin León took home five awards, demonstrating the impact of her music on the industry. Karol G and Camilo also shone with four awards each.

A night of tributes

The evening was full of memorable moments, especially with the tribute to the legendary Spanish composer Manuel Alejandro. Alejandro Sanz, Laura Pausini, Carin León and Niña Pastori joined together in a moving performance of some of his greatest hits. Visibly moved, the music maestro dedicated a few words to the audience: "All my life I have dedicated myself to listening to their feelings and writing them down in songs."

Another highlight was the recognition of Paquita la del Barrio, who received a tribute from Pepe Aguilar and his children, Leonardo and Ángela Aguilar. Her performance of her iconic song 'Rata de dos patas' had the entire auditorium singing along.

Alejandro Fernández also had a special moment when he received the Lo Nuestro Award for Excellence from his children, Alex and Camila Fernández. In his speech, he sent a message to Mexicans in the United States "who are suffering" and dedicated his award to his family and his late father, Vicente Fernández .

The event kicked off with a surprise performance by Will Smith and Spanish singer India Martinez, who performed their song 'First Love'. Later, DJ Khaled, Thalia and Miami Sound Machine lit up the stage with the classic 'Miami'.

India was honored with the Lo Nuestro Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her legacy in tropical music, with a tribute organized by producer Sergio George.

The gala also saw musical premieres: Prince Royce performed a selection of classics such as 'My Girl' and 'How Deep Is Your Love', while Manuel Turizo and Xavi debuted their collaboration 'En Privado'. El Alfa, in an emotional farewell to the stage, thrilled the audience with a medley of his greatest hits.

Marc Anthony, winner of 28 Lo Nuestro awards, premiered 'Volver' alongside Piso 21 and Beéle, while Reik presented his new single 'Mientes'. Grupo Frontera and Alejandro Sanz thrilled with 'Hoy No Me Siento Bien', and Guaynaa debuted at the ceremony with a performance alongside Venesti.

Thalia and Los Angeles Azules got the audience dancing with 'Yo Me Lo Busqué'. Thali also sang 'Amiga date cuenta' with Ha-Ash, while Natti Natasha made an impact with her new song 'Desde Hoy'. Danny Ocean and Kapo also surprised with 'Imagínate'.

The night was packed with performances by stars such as Alejandra Guzmán, Belinda, Tito Double P, Becky G, Oscar Maydon and Ha*Ash, closing an unforgettable edition of Premio Lo Nuestro 2024.
