Shakhtar Donetsk are said to have set a brand new transfer fee for winger Mykhaylo Mudryk amid interest from Arsenal over a move in the January transfer window. football.london understands that the Gunners tabled an opening bid worth up to £55million for the 19-year-old on Boxing Day.
However, reports have since claimed that the Ukrainian side have rejected the initial offer, with the overall package and structure not matching their valuation. It comes after months of speculation surrounding a potential move to the Emirates Stadium after missing out on the switch in the summer.
The youngster has continued to add fuel to the fire over the move, making several hints over joining Arsenal in the upcoming transfer window. When asked about a move in an interview with CBS Sports, he said: "I think every guy dreams about the Premier League.

"It's hard to say [who his preferred move is], but Arsenal is a very good team, a very good coach. I like the way they play. From my side, I can't say no [to Arsenal]. But the transfer is not only my decision."
With the opening bid turned down, many will be wondering just how much it will cost to to land Mudryk in the coming weeks.
According to the Guardian, Shakhtar are holding out for £85million, with the Gunners' opening gambit therefore falling short of their valuation for the winger, with the side being notoriously tough to negotiate with.
It seems as though it could be a matter of time until a move goes through for the winger, however the price has been set that the Gunners have to match.
