Shakhtar Donetsk have received a boost in their push for the Champions League knockout stage as the Ukrainian League allowed them to postponed their weekend game ahead of facing Celtic.
The Scottish Premiership champions must beat the Ukrainian champions on Tuesday to still have a chance of staying in Europe after the winter break, with Ange Postecoglou 's men four points behind Shakhtar with two games left to play. The war-torn nation have again handed their Champions League representatives a boost by allowing them to call off their game today against Mynai ahead of jetting to Glasgow.
It's the second time Shakhtar have been given time off to prepare for their European fixture card. they saw their league game postponed in the weekend before they were due to play Real Madrid at home, when they came within seconds of beating the European champions in Poland before Carlo Ancellotti's men levelled in injury time.
The 1-1 draw put Shakhtar within touching distance of a Europa League spot. In the league they are level on points with Dnipro at the top of the league - and will have been rested by almost a week ahead of playing against Celtic with their last game coming on Wednesday.
