Barring a miracle, it appears Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will finish with the fourth-most All-Star votes among Western Conference guards.
The NBA released the latest updates on All-Star voting on Thursday and Gilgeous-Alexander (1,843,460 votes) ranks behind third-placed Ja Morant (1,921,276 votes), second-placed Luka Doncic (4,905,655 votes) and first-placed Stephen Curry (5,151,822 votes).
The gap between Gilgeous-Alexander and Morant grew to nearly 78,000 votes.
Fan votes account for 50% of the total. Players and media each account for 25% of the vote total. The five players — two guards and three frontcourt players — with the most votes in each conference will be named All-Star starters.
All-Star voting closes Jan. 21, and the All-Star game is scheduled to be played on Feb. 19.
In 41 games, Gilgeous-Alexander is averaging 30.5 points on 50.1% shooting, 5.5 assists and 4.9 rebounds.
