The NBA released the first rounds of All-Star fan voting results on Thursday and Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is unsurprising one of the top vote-getters.
Gilgeous-Alexander has the third-most votes (966,927) among Western Conference guards. He only trails Luka Doncic (1,452,733) and Stephen Curry (1,394,980).
It’ll be a race for an All-Star starter spot, but Gilgeous-Alexander should easily make his second All-Star appearance this season. The 25-year-old has played like an MVP candidate.
As the Thunder sits at 23-10 and in second place in the Western Conference standings, Gilgeous-Alexander has averaged 31.4 points on 54.6% shooting, 6.4 assists and 5.9 rebounds in 32 games.
Coming off a career season where he was named an All-NBA First Team member, Gilgeous-Alexander continues to be one of the best players in the league.
The 2024 NBA All-Star event is scheduled from Feb. 16 to Feb. 18 in Indiana. Gilgeous-Alexander’s teammate Chet Holmgren was No. 9 in West frontcourt votes.
