'Sexist' Michael Rapaport slammed by furious Ariana Grande fans after 'misogynistic' tweet saying 'there's hotter women working at Starbucks'

Comedian Michael Rapaport has come under fire after criticising Ariana Grande’s looks and accusing her of acting like a teenager.

Rapaport, who starred in Atypical, lashed out at Grande on social media and quickly faced a severe backlash from her fans, who branded him a “misogynist”.

He tweeted: “Ariana Grande is 27 acts 12, you take off those boots she hides her legs in, the cat eye make up and the genie pony tale and I think there's hotter women working the counter at Starbucks no disrespect to Starbucks (sic).”

Alongside his damaging tweet, Rapaport also posted an old picture of a make-up free Grande in a bid to illustrate his point.

But he soon faced heavy fire from an army of her fans, who accused him of being “sexist” and questioned why he would take aim at the God Is A Woman star.

One wrote: “Another old man telling a young woman her worth only resides in her looks and tells her it’s not enough.”

Another said: “How dare she have a picture taken without being in full makeup! It’s like she’s a real person sometimes.”

A third posted: “You can call everybody snowflakes and s*** who don’t agree with you but at the end of the day @MichaelRapaport you’re still a 48yo man who took the time to find a picture and craft something s*** and nasty to say about a 25yo old woman. Pathetic.”

Several sneered at Rapaport’s career and criticised him for using Grande to “get attention” in a bid to “try [to] be relevant again”.

A scathing tweet read: "You’re a dumba** for being that degrading toward Ariana Grande. Keep using her name cause Yknow she’s at the top and you clearly need money with your failure of a career. Sexist pig."

Rapaport was even attacked by his own fans who told him that his remark was “uncalled for”.

But the actor didn’t appear bothered by the social media storm he had created as he tweeted a photo of himself in a bikini with the caption “thank you, Next”, in reference to Grande’s hit song, as well as replying to comments.

Grande has yet to respond to the claims.

The US singer was recently caught up in her own Twitter storm after she was criticised by Kanye West for "weaponising mental health" .

West went on a Twitter tirade against Drake, prompting Grande, who was dropping her track at the same time as Miley Cyrus, to ask West if he could "behave for just like a few hours so the girls can shine".
