Sex Pistols singer John Lydon has slammed the upcoming series, Pistol, for being a 'pile of nonsense'.
During his appearance on This Morning on Monday, the iconic rocker - who is also known as Johnny Rotten - discussed his dislike of the production of the highly-anticipated series about the band's origins.
The show was produced by Disney and stars Game of Thrones' Maisie Williams, Dylan Llewellyn, Louis Partridge, Emma Appleton, and Anson Boon.
Although many are looking forward to watching the show, rocker John is less than pleased as he wasn't given the script.
After viewers were shown the trailer for Pistol, John immediately chimed in with: "What is this mimicry?"
Dermot tried defending the series by saying the trailer makes you want to watch it.
"I think that's because the reality is ever so much more important than this pile of nonsense," John bashed the show.
He revealed he first heard the news of the show back in January 2021, when a manager called to ask John to agree to publishing rights.
On a Friday evening, Danny Boyle confirmed he was taking on the project and barely 24 hours later, the press bombarded John's house.
"So we were thrown into this without any knowledge of it at all," he continued. "And still asking the questions. Can we see the script? What is this about? All of this was denied."
"Of course, I'm upset with it. I'm the one that wrote those songs, right. I gave them their image. I gave them everything. And they've done this rather snidey kind of piece of work behind my back."

John added that he would have "absolutely" been on board if he was told about the project sooner and given more details.
Meanwhile, Pistol is set to premiere on Disney Plus on May 31.
The series is based on the memoir of Steve Jones, the legendary Sex Pistols guitarist who helped usher in a punk revolution in Britain.
John previously threatened to sue producers of the forthcoming biographical show.
Talking about the show, John also claimed it is too sleazy.
“It’s upsetting as a lot of it has sexual connotations which are dubious at best," he said.
"They have gone for the wrong end of things just to be sensational. I think there is much more quality to the Pistols than that.”
