Sex Pistols singer John Lydon called director Danny Boyle an 'a***hole' during a live chat on Monday's This Morning.
The punk icon, also known by his stage name Johnny Rotten, sat down for a chat with Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary on the ITV daytime show.
John discussed his disapproval of the production of the biopic series, Pistol, which is due to premiere on Disney Plus this week.
The show was produced by Disney and stars Game of Thrones' Maisie Williams, Dylan Llewellyn, Louis Partridge, Emma Appleton, and Anson Boon.
Danny Boyle, who is the man behind Yesterday and Trainspotting, directed and produced the series.
During the segment on This Morning, Alison read out a quote from the director for John and viewers to hear.
She read out: "Danny Boyle has previously said, 'I love Lydon for what he does and I don't want him to like it. I think that he's he has an absolute right. Why would you change the habit of a lifetime?' That's Danny Boyle."
John intervened and said: "You a***hole," before Alison and Dermot quickly apologised for the bad language on afternoon television.
Fans were loving the moment and took to social media to share their thoughts on the swearing on live TV.
"You have Johnny Rotten on and you should expect some swearing, I shocked he only did it once," one user said.
Another complimented him and said: " @lydonofficial bringing Daytime TV into disrepute with his articulate, precise opinions! Go Jonny!"

"Dermot, Alison and John Lydon, and only one a***hole slip! Brilliant viewing that I thought could implode at any sec but even Alisons body language was solidly beautiful. Bravo!!" another impressed viewer added.
One said: "John Lydon casually sipping a cup of tea on #ThisMorning after calling Danny Boyle an a***hole is something I’d never thought I’d see."
During his interview, John expressed his displeasure over the show and even called it a 'pile of nonsense'.
He said he would have been 'absolutely' on board with the series if he was given more information and was told ahead of time.
John even previously threatened to sue producers of the forthcoming biographical show.
Meanwhile, Pistol is set to premiere on Disney Plus on May 31.
