Sex beast Simon McGinley is set to walk free from prison this July after serving his sentence for brutally raping a pensioner, the Irish Sunday Mirror has learned.
Evil McGinley, who was jailed for 21 years in 2009 for the violent sexual attack on the 85-year-old woman, had two years knocked off his jail term in 2011.
He will therefore complete his sentence this summer when 25 per cent remission is taken into account for good behaviour while in Arbour Hill Prison. It’s not the first time McGinley – also known as the C Case rapist – was locked up for a violent sexual attack.
He was previously sentenced to 12 years in 1998 after pleading guilty to raping a 13-year-old girl in August 1997.
The young girl was at the centre of the “C Case” at the High Court as a legal battle was fought over whether she was allowed to travel to the UK to have an abortion.
McGinley, 48, who is said to be as dangerous as notorious rapist Larry Murphy, is eligible for release as early as July. He will be on the sex offenders register and it is understood he will be under post-release supervision for 12 years.
A source told the Irish Sunday Mirror: “July is the earliest possible date and he will most likely be freed then.
“His crimes shocked the nation and his movements once released will no doubt be monitored by authorities.”
McGinley was once deemed a person of interest in the case of missing JoJo Dullard.
A source said: “He was named as a person of interest but I don’t believe he was ever quizzed about it. Given his history and violence towards women, his name would have come up.”
When passing sentence in 2009, Justice George Birmingham said the case was one of the worst he had heard considering the age and frailty of the victim.
More than a decade earlier, McGinley was jailed for raping the 13-year-old who was babysitting for the then married father-of-three at his Dublin home.
