Severn Trent has apologised to residents along a Ruddington street where some report that a water leak has been ongoing for nearly a week. One of the residents of Flawforth Lane in the Rushcliffe village first contacted Nottinghamshire Live about the leak on Saturday, August 13, saying that the leak by that point had been ongoing for around four days.
It comes after a drought was officially declared across the East Midlands on Friday, August 12. Severn Trent confirmed that it had triggered its drought action plan, but that a hosepipe ban did not yet form part of this.
The water company has now confirmed that the water leak on Flawforth Lane near the junction with the A60 was still ongoing on Monday, August 15. Despite the report of the leak having first started almost a week ago, Severn Trent says that it first received a report about it on Sunday, August 14.

A Severn Trent spokesperson said: "We are aware of a leak on Flawforth Lane in Ruddington. The leak is not impacting supply to any of our customers, and we will be sending a team to evaluate the works required and get the leak fixed as quickly as possible.
"We would like to apologise for any inconvenience." Severn Trent recently apologised to residents of a village near Bingham after delays to fixing a burst water pipe saw sewage seeping onto driveways.
