Several ScotRail services between East Lothian and Edinburgh cancelled today

A NUMBER of train services connecting East Lothian to Edinburgh have been cancelled today due to "a shortage of train crew".

From North Berwick to the Capital, five of the scheduled trains have been cancelled: the 9.19am, 10.25am, 12.25pm, 1.29pm and 3.25pm.

As a result, the return journeys will also not be running at 8.40am, 9.39am, 11.42am, 12.40pm and 2.39pm.

Meanwhile, the 10.10am train from Edinburgh to Dunbar and the 11.01am return journey have also been cancelled.

Rail replacement buses are in operation along the route.

Customers with valid train tickets can also travel on number 26 Lothian Bus services between Edinburgh, Musselburgh and Prestonpans.

Phil Campbell, customer operations director at ScotRail, said: “We’re sorry to customers for the disruption to their journey.

"Anyone who experiences a delay of 30 minutes or more is entitled to claim compensation through our Delay Repay Guarantee."
