Several Irish EuroMillions players could become millionaires after tonight’s historical draw.
The Euromillions jackpot is now at €230 million which is the highest ever since the multi-national lottery was launched back in 2004. So far, 17 ticket holders have won the jackpot in Ireland.
Sarah Orr of the National Lottery said: “If there’s a match 5 plus lucky stars winners – the additional funds will flow down there, for tonight’s draw we’re estimating that approximately 21 million euro could flow down to the next prize tier of winners, we could see multiple millionaires made from tonight’s draw.”

Lotto bosses have urged players dreaming of becoming Ireland’s newest multi-millionaire to purchase their tickets early in-store, through the National Lottery app or at www.lottery.ie ahead of the 7.30pm cut-off time for sales this evening.
Meanwhile, another National Lottery spokesperson said: “The EuroMillions jackpot has now officially hit record-breaking levels after reaching the highest amount ever seen in the game last Friday. While Tuesday’s jackpot is guaranteed to be capped at the hugely life-altering amount of €230 million, players will also have the chance to win even bigger than usual at a lower prize tier.
"As the jackpot is capped at €230 million, the additional funds that would usually be added to the jackpot will now flow down to the next prize tier at which there is a winner and in tomorrow night’s draw, we estimate this figure to be in the region of €21 million. This means that we could see a number of millionaires being made after tomorrow night’s draw – and that’s even if the jackpot isn’t won!
“If a player in Ireland were to win the massive jackpot amount tomorrow night, they would take the title of 18th EuroMillions jackpot winner ever seen in Ireland.
"While EuroMillions players are sure to be dreaming of becoming Ireland’s newest multi-millionaire, we are encouraging players who are hoping to play, to purchase their tickets early either in-store, through the National Lottery app or at www.lottery.ie ahead of the 7.30pm deadline for ticket sales tomorrow evening.”
The jackpot can remain capped at €230m for a total of five draws. If there is still no jackpot winner by the fifth draw, the €230m and any excess jackpot value, flows down to the next prize tier that there is/are a winner(s) and so it must be won.
