SEVEN people have been taken to hospital following a deliberate fire at a tower block in Aberdeen.
Emergency services were called to Aulton Court on Seaton Crescent, at around 8pm on Monday following reports of a fire.
Firefighters tackled the blaze on the 12th floor of the 19-storey building and were able to extinguish the fire before leaving the area around 10pm.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said it sent five appliances to combat the blaze and were joined by seven ambulances and two special operations teams at the scene.
SFRS said seven patients were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Their conditions are currently unknown.
Police Scotland said they are treating the wire as wilful, and enquiries into the blaze remain ongoing.
A spokesperson said: “Around 8.05pm on Monday, January 20, 2025, police received a report of a fire within a block of flats at Aulton Court, Seaton Crescent, Aberdeen.
“Emergency services attended, and the fire was extinguished.
“The fire is being treated as wilful, and enquiries are ongoing.”
A SFRS spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 7.58pm on Monday, January 20, to reports of a fire alarm activating at Aulton Court, Seaton Crescent, Aberdeen.
“Operations Control mobilised five appliances to the scene and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting the communal area on the 12th floor of a 19-storey tower block of flats.
“Seven casualties were passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service. Crews left the scene at 10.10pm after ensuring the area was made safe”.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service added: “We received a call at 8.17pm on Monday January 20 to attend an incident on Seaton Crescent, Aberdeen.
“We dispatched seven ambulances and two special operations response teams (SORT) to the scene. We transported seven patients to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
