Seven massive music festivals headlined by superstars that are happening in Leeds this summer

Leeds will be welcoming some music megastars to the city this summer.

Festival season is nearly here and there’s so much musical fun you can enjoy. As part of our series encouraging you to get out and Explore Yorkshire we’ve produced a guide to the summer 2023 music festivals we have to look forward to.

Whatever kind of music is your bag, there’s hopefully something happening that is ideal for you. Whether it is a party like Leeds Festival or something a little more specialist like The Garden Party - we’ve got you covered.

Live at Leeds: In The Park

May 27

Two Door Cinema Club will be headlining with others on the bill including DMA’s, The Hives and Everything Everything. Live at Leeds: In The Park will be happening at Temple Newsam on Saturday, May 27. Other acts performing at Live at Leeds include Kate Nash, Maximo Park, Lottery Winners and James Marriott. This summer, fans can name the event’s main stage with a chance to win tickets for the fun. We'll also keep you posted about plans for sister event Live at Leeds: In The City which is expected to take place later this year.

Slam Dunk Festival

May 28

Punk rock royalty The Offspring will be returning to the UK as Slam Dunk Festival co-headliners, along with Enter Shikari. Now in its 16th year, Slam Dunk welcomes an army of rockers annually. It will be taking place at Temple Newsam, in Leeds, on Sunday, May 28.

The Garden Party

May 27 and 28

Back for what the team hope is a another legendary weekender happening on Saturday, May 27 and Sunday, May 28. Taking place at Canvas Yard, in Leeds, with a line up featuring Pawsa, Skream, Paul Woolford, LF System, Special Request, Sherelle, Bradley Zero, Todd Terje, Palms Trax and Dr Banana.

Let’s Rock

June 17

Let’s Rock: The Retro Festival is returning to Temple Newsam, in Leeds, this summer. Happening on Saturday, June 17 we’ll see headline performances from Soft Cell and OMD. Others lined up to perform include Tony Hadley, Midge Ure, Slim Jim Phantom (Stray Cats), The Farm, The Real Thing, Hue and Cry, Roland Gift, Heatwave and many more.

Sounds of The City

July and August

There’s a packed schedule of gigs as part of the Sounds of The City annual run of shows. Millennium Square, in Leeds, will be the venue for acts including McFly, Kasabian, Blossoms and Morrissey among others. This summer the venue will also be hosting the Popworld Festival, the 80s Classical and Club Classical Anthems.

Ska and Mod Festival

July 23

Leeds Ska and Mod Festival is set to return to Millennium Square on Sunday, July 23. It will include live outdoor performances from Bad Manners, From The Jam, The Hotknives, Death Of Guitar Pop, The Pioneers and Block 33.

Leeds Festival

August 25-27

Sam Fender, The Killers, Billie Eilish, Foals, Lewis Capaldi and Imagine Dragons will all headline at Bramham Park over the August bank holiday weekend. Mimi Webb, Rina Sawayama , Arlo Parks, Tom Odell, Easy Life, Bakar, and Yard Act are some of the other artists due to appear.
