Seven parks and green spaces in Glasgow have been awarded with a Green Flag.
The award is given by charity Keep Scotland Beautiful and acts as a benchmark for recreational outdoor space.
It celebrates well maintained parks and green spaces, and aims to improve opportunities to exercise, improve mental wellbeing as well as providing safe areas for kids to play in.

The parks in Glasgow that have been awarded with green flags are: Glasgow Botanic Gardens, Castlemilk Park Daffodil Walk, Linn Park Wildlife Trail, Maryhill Park Growing Space, Mount Vernon Park, Overnewton Park and the Southern Necropolis.
Jamie Ormiston, Beaches and Parks Officer at Keep Scotland Beautiful, said: “I would like to congratulate all of Scotland’s award-winning parks. Receiving this prestigious international benchmark recognises all the hard work that has gone into maintaining and managing these precious green open spaces.
“As the only accreditation for park management of its kind in Scotland, we have supported local authority teams, land managers and communities across Scotland to drive up environmental standards at many of our parks and open spaces for residents and visitors alike.
“Scotland’s parks and open spaces attract thousands of visitors every year and I’d encourage everyone to #RespectProtectEnjoy them this summer.”
Across the UK 2,208 parks have achieved the award this year with 85 of them in Scotland.

Councillor Ruairi Kelly, Glasgow City Convener for Neighbourhood Services and Assets, said: “It’s a tremendous honour for any park to receive a Green Flag and it’s great news that seven of Glasgow’s open spaces have received this award.
“Staff at the Botanics put so much work into managing what is undoubtedly one of Glasgow’s finest parks and they fully deserve to be recognised in this way.
“The community awards are also a source of great pride and they demonstrate very clearly how passionate our residents are about their local parks.
“Our parks team works very closely with communities all across the city to help them fulfil their ambitions for the open spaces in the neighbourhoods.
“But the Green Flag Community Awards are ultimately a tribute to the friends of groups and other volunteers who have driven the positive changes to the parks in their area.”
