Seven Aid Workers Killed In Israeli Military Strike In Gaza

A ship carrying aid sails off the shore of Gaza, as seen from central Gaza Strip

Tragedy struck in Gaza as seven aid workers, including multiple foreigners, were killed in an Israeli military strike. The team, associated with the non-profit group World Central Kitchen, was delivering food to starving civilians in the besieged enclave.

According to World Central Kitchen, the aid workers were traveling in a 'deconflicted zone' in two armored cars branded with the charity's logo, along with a 'soft skin vehicle.' Despite coordinating movements with the IDF, the convoy was hit as it was leaving the Deir al-Balah warehouse after unloading over 100 tons of humanitarian food aid brought to Gaza via the maritime route.

The victims of this tragic incident include a dual US-Canada national, individuals from Australia, Poland, the United Kingdom, and a Palestinian. World Central Kitchen CEO Erin Gore expressed deep sorrow and shock over the loss of lives in the targeted attack by the IDF. She highlighted the dedication of the aid workers to feeding people, their unwavering commitment to demonstrating the supremacy of humanity, and the positive impact they had on countless lives.

This devastating event serves as a stark reminder of the risks faced by humanitarian workers operating in conflict zones. The international community mourns the loss of these brave individuals and their selfless service to those in need.
