Seth Rogen mocks Kim Kardashian as star misses Women in Entertainment event

Seth Rogen took aim at Kim Kardashian as the reality TV star failed to attend this year's Women in Entertainment event in Los Angeles.

Kim, 42, was reportedly set to appear at the ceremony on Wednesday but a mix-up in her schedule was blamed for her no-show.

But that didn't stop the Superbad star throwing shade at the SKIMS founder. Introducing his Long Shot co-star Charlize Theron to the stage to accept the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award, Seth, 40, began by criticising the food on offer at the event.

He then called out Kim, who had originally been set to present an award. He said: "I have seen every episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. I know she’s not doing something more important than this."

Making sure the audience knew he was joking, he admitted he's sure the star would've had a good reason to skip her duties.

A source later told TMZ : "The wrong event date was given to Kim’s team several weeks ago. The error was realised only on Monday and unfortunately, her schedule could not be moved around at the last minute due to a prior work commitment. She was incredibly disappointed to not be able to attend since she never cancels.”

Speaking of Charlize, Seth discussed how he was initially intimidated to work alongside her - but not because of her talents.

He added: "I was literally physically intimidated to be around her, because she murders people in every movie she does."

And he joked the pair's relationship was true as they had managed to stay friends even after the movie flopped.

After being praised for being "incredibly charitable", Charlize mocked Sherry for including her in Aeon Flux. "So I have to ask, Sherry, what did I do to p**s you off because you put me in Aeon Flux?!”

The production was made on a budget of $62 million, but only grossed $53 million worldwide.

Charlize recently told THR that she “knew” the action movie “was going to be a f***ing flop.”

After her slam at the event, Charlize congratulated all female leaders who are "kick[ing] the door of opportunity down," before saying: "This next wave of women are tearing down the whole f***ing building."

She highlighted her delight in seeing more female directors, producers, department heads and actresses opening their own production companies and went on to name-check fellow honoree Issa Rae and presenter Margot Robbie.
