An investigation has been launched after a sexually assault in the early hours of the morning.
Police were called to Barr's Brae near John Wood Street, Port Glasgow, around 3.30am on Sunday.
Officers cordoned off the area and were standing guard next to one end of the road, near to a railway bridge in the Inverclyde town. A police car was also parked at the end of the bridge, reports the Daily Record.

The force confirmed they had received a report of a serious sexual assault and said enquiries into the incident remained ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.30 am on Sunday, November 13, police received a report of a serious sexual assault in Barr's Brae near to John Wood Street, Port Glasgow.
"Enquiries into the incident are continuing.”
