A woman in her 80s has suffered serious injuries after a crash which led to the closure of a Nottinghamshire road and caused heavy delays. The A52 at Saxondale Roundabout was closed for a number of hours as Nottinghamshire Police collision investigators attended the incident at around 3.10pm on Thursday, August 18.
National Highways said that the A52 Grantham Road was closed between the A1 at Grantham and the A46 at Saxondale following the collision. The agency reported that the road reopened at around 10pm and police have now released more information about the collision.
Lincolnshire Police said that the two-vehicle collision happened between Sedgebrook and Barrowby and that it involved a black Kia Picanto and grew BMW. The force also said that a woman in her 80s suffered serious injuries at the scene and was taken to hospital as a result.
National Highways also deployed resources to assist with traffic management at the scene. The incident is being referred to as number 253 of August 18.
